Memorial Day 09- Chattanooga
We went to Chattanooga over Memorial Day weekend for a little get away. What an experience! Smith had a great time at the Tennessee Aquarium, the Chattanooga Choo-Choo and the fountain at Coolidge Park. He also saw his very first movie in the IMAX theater at the aquarium.
Confession: we forgot to bring a staple item for a 21-month old. As we were passing the Georgia state line, we realized we didn't pack the stroller. We decided not to stop at Target in Newnan because they were doing construction on the exit and when we saw a Wal-mart 20 minutes out of Chattanooga, we thought "Oh, no, surely there will be one on or right before our exit." Wrong. Papa and Mimi went on this trip too. Papa told us that there was no need for a stroller since he was there, so we decided to brave the Aquarium and the IMAX without it. Later that night, Daddy decided to find the nearest store to purchase one. He got out in the rain and got one for us. So on Sunday morning, we arrived at the Chattanooga Market all excited to get out the new stroller. Daddy pulled it out of the Jeep and guess what? It was missing two wheels. When we went back to the store later to return it, the lady at the counter said, "Oh, I saw those wheels on the floor back there by the strollers a little while ago." They had fallen out of the bag.
Smith had the best time at Coolidge Park. I recommend it as a must do if you take your kids to Chattanooga. There's an indoor carousel that's hand carved but what Smith liked the most as you will see in the pictures is the park's fountain. Be sure to take a swimsuit, swim shoes and towel when you go! We had them in the car because we were leaving later that day- lucky us! After the fountain, Smith and I shared a cup of Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream!
